Madrid is one of the best foodie cities in the world, offering everything from cozy coffee shops and hidden market eateries to bustling taco spots and bars. I might be a little biased – having lived there for two years – but there truly is something for every taste bud.
I often catch myself dreaming about the pistachio latte from my favorite coffee shop in the world and the perfect pizza crust from one of my old neighborhood staples. Getting hungry yet? Let’s dig in.

📍Chamberí
I’m not a coffee drinker, but Naji’s Specialty Coffee could singlehandedly convert me into one. The perfectly balanced pistachio latte is what initially drew me in, but Naji’s warmth and hospitality are what keep me coming back. You can tell he genuinely loves his craft – and literally pours that passion into every cup he serves.

🍕 BIZZO!
📍Moncloa
If you know me, you know I love pizza.
If you really know me, you’ve seen how pizza doesn’t love me back.
Despite having a very sensitive stomach when it comes to dairy, I will always cave for a phenomenal slice – and BIZZO! delivers every single time. Think cloud-like crust, fresh ingredients, and flavors that make your mouth water just thinking about them (mine included).

📍Mercado Antón Martín
Is any foodie list ever complete without a go-to spot for comforting Asian flavors? Surely not one of mine.
Asian Army is tucked away on the lower level of a local market, making it feel like a hidden gem – but don’t let the low-key location fool you. The food is incredible, and the hospitality makes returning feel like coming home.
This is one of those places you stumble into once… and then keep finding excuses to return to.

📍Sol
I can’t even begin to count how many lines I’ve waited in for these tacos over the years. Starting at just 1€ per taco, they’re an affordable party for my taste buds every time.
My go-to order (as pictured):
Arrachera
Cochinita pibil
Bistec
And, of course, the namesake: al pastor
They opened a bigger location a few years ago, but the lines here can still be long — so be prepared to wait. I promise it’s worth it.

📍Sol
Cuevas holds a special place in my heart. It’s where I caught up with my gals every week over mojitos and rotating tapas (yes, you get tapas with every drink).
Located right in the center of Madrid, it’s the perfect launching point for a night out in the city – and for friendships that last far beyond it.
Madrid’s food scene is constantly evolving, and I always look forward to seeing what new places have opened since my last visit.
Where have your taste buds taken you around the world?
Joyfully,
Temitayo
