The Caribbean

Across the Caribbean, nourishment goes far beyond the plate. It’s here that I’ve learned to lean into rest – physically, mentally, and spiritually. From wandering Puerto Rico’s colorful streets filled with the sounds of reggaeton, to digging my toes into the Dominican Republic’s sandy beaches, to listening to the crashing waves in the Bahamas’ turquoise waters and the gentle chirping within Jamaica’s lush landscapes, the Caribbean has provided the perfect backdrop to slow down and be still. As someone who’s always on the go, choosing rest hasn’t come naturally – it’s something I’ve had to learn over time.
The Caribbean has taught me that nourishment comes in many forms – from the food on your plate to the rest you allow yourself – and I hope my adventures here encourage you to savor both.
Because mine is every time I travel the Caribbean, where food is more than a meal; it’s a love language.
One of my favorite ways to experience a country’s culture is through its cuisine. This often starts before even stepping foot in a new destination – researching local dishes, searching Google Maps for the best restaurants, and saving each spot to a list that I can quickly reference. I’ll even plan activities around where I want to eat later (no shame!).
