My name’s Bri and I’m a 27-year-old Nigerian-American travel enthusiast. I grew up right outside of Atlanta and recently moved to Chicago, so I’m definitely a city girl at heart. I caught the travel bug during my first study abroad trip as a sophomore in high school, and I have no desire to be cured of it! I’ve traveled to over 30 countries across five continents, met some amazing people along the way, and had unforgettable experiences. A few highlights include teaching English in Spain for two years, interning with a healthcare NGO in India, studying abroad in South Africa, and many more — but you’ll have to stick around to hear about the rest!

You might be wondering why this blog is called Temitayo Travels since most people know me as Bri. Temitayo is my middle name, given to me by my parents, and it means “mine is worthy of joy” in Yoruba. I didn’t fully appreciate it or my Nigerian heritage until I began to travel. Through experiencing diverse cultures, I gained a new appreciation for my own, learning to love and embrace where I come from.

I’m excited to have you join me on this journey as I continue to explore new places and cultures, try new foods (while managing my highly sensitive stomach), and grow as both a traveler and individual. I hope to create a space where we can both celebrate the beauty of exploration and the joy of self-discovery. Most of all, I hope this blog can inspire you to do what brings you joy because YOU are more than worthy of it!

Hi and welcome to my blog!

I was born in Arkansas, which so many of my friends still don’t believe to this day.

Fun Facts

I’m a long-term breast cancer survivor (going on 7 years!) and have blogged about that experience through WebMD.

I have a huge sour tooth. I’d eat a whole lemon any day.

My favorite animal is a beluga whale, but I’ve recently become a fan of all types of whales.

I’m fluent in Spanish.

I try to collect a postcard from everywhere I travel to add to my walls of wanderlust

(aka my dining room)

I’m the worst person to have a movie night with because I’ll fall asleep immediately.

I’m a surprise connoisseur!

My next travel goal is to visit all 7 continents before I turn 30…Antarctica and Australia here I come!

Out of all the landscapes I’ve traveled through, the Sahara desert is my favorite. There’s just something about being in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by sand dunes, that feels so peaceful and liberating.
