🥠Spicy Mango
📍New Orleans
You know those restaurants that you still think about years after your first visit? Spicy Mango instantly became one of those during my first trip to New Orleans. Walking into the restaurant felt like entering a space curated to my tastes – like, all this for me?!Â
Its beautiful boho interior was just the beginning – the real magic was on the menu. The service was full of Southern charm, and every dish brought bold, memorable flavor.Â
We started with the Mango Habanero Wings, and as soon as the sauce hit my mouth, I turned to my friend and said, “This is the best meal we’ve ever had together.” He laughed and told me not to get ahead of myself, but I knew – it was love at first bite.Â

Soon after, my Spicy Mango Margarita arrived, and boy…it was hot. No, literally. It was lit on fire and sprinkled with cinnamon right before my eyes, and easily one of the best cocktails I’ve had.

For entrĂ©es, I ordered the Red Bean Oxtail, a rich, comforting stew that transported my taste buds straight to Jamaica. I also tried my friend’s Escovitch Red Snapper, which was crispy on the outside, and tender, juicy, and incredibly fresh inside.Â
On the side: sweet plantains (just how I like them) and Oxtail Mac & Cheese, which honestly could’ve been its own standout entrée.

I didn’t save room for dessert, but if it was anything like the rest of the meal, I know it would’ve been fire.Â
In a city spoiled for choice with amazing food, Spicy Mango stands out for its stellar menu that’s only enhanced by the quality of service. This was a 10/10 experience and one I’d recommend adding to your next New Orleans itinerary…stat!
