Hi friends! If you’re reading this, you’re probably part of what inspired me to start this blog. So, thank you for encouraging me to keep exploring the world and sharing my experiences with others.

For those who don’t know me, hi! My name’s Bri and I’m a 28-year-old Nigerian-American travel enthusiast. I grew up right outside of Atlanta and recently moved to Chicago, so I’m definitely a city girl at heart. I caught the travel bug during my first study abroad trip as a sophomore in high school, and I have no desire to be cured of it! I’ve traveled to over 30 countries across five continents, met some amazing people along the way, and had unforgettable experiences. A few highlights include teaching English in Spain for two years, interning with a healthcare NGO in India, studying abroad in South Africa, and many more — but you’ll have to stick around to hear about the rest!

You might be wondering why this blog is called Temitayo Travels since most people know me as Bri. Temitayo is my middle name, given to me by my parents, and it means “mine is worthy of joy” in Yoruba. I didn’t fully appreciate it or my Nigerian heritage until I began to travel. Through experiencing diverse cultures, I gained a new appreciation for my own, learning to love and embrace where I come from.

I’m excited to have you join me on this journey as I continue to explore new places and cultures, try new foods (while managing my highly sensitive stomach), and grow as both a traveler and individual. I hope to create a space where we can both celebrate the beauty of exploration and the joy of self-discovery. Most of all, I hope this blog can inspire you to do what brings you joy because YOU are more than worthy of it!

Joyfully,

Temitayo
